This v/blog is about sharing stories, listening to people tell their journey whether it be about their careers or hobbies. Inspiring others to follow their dreams and strive to do something that makes them happy, speaks to their soul or lights a fire in their belly. My guests share advice from their own perspectives over various topics, they share their hopes and dreams and what they want out of life and out of their endeavors. The great thing about being human is that everyone has their own experiences that form their own opinions, and sometimes we need to hear an opinion that differs from our own. This is not a place to condemn someone for how they do or think about things if it’s different from how you’d do it, but to just listen and take it for what it is – a sharing of their experience.
Hello, hello, and welcome to the show!
This episode features Kristian Eros, an up-and-coming voice talent with big dreams! Now, I know this episode is superrrr long but bear with me – it’s a good one. There’s so much to talk about with Kristian that we decided to risk it being too long in order to have a great conversation about anime, his experiences so far, sound advice for other voice talent and a whole host of other things. We started following each other on socials soon after we both first started pursuing voice acting, but never actually spoke to each other. Then, we met at the One Voice conference in Dallas last year (2021), and he recognized me and came over to say hello. Of course, if you know me, you know that I had no idea who he was and was like do I…know you? Until finally he told me where I knew him from and it clicked and all was good.
Kristian started out kinda recently – last 3 years – and has been killing it ever since. He tells us about how he got discouraged when he was younger and decided not to pursue voice acting (or acting in general), but then later on decided that this was what he wanted to do and nothing would stand in his way. He started out with his sights solely set on anime and animation, but eventually learned that there is more to the pie than what he originally wanted. He started doing audiobooks and commercials to get some stuff under his belt and found that he actually enjoys it. And now he’s working in ADR and dubbing with Funimation and other studios, he’s joined a couple improv groups and has also done some video games.
Pretty soon, you’ll be hearing him voice a main character of a popular anime. Any day now, just wait.
In the meantime, go follow his socials, check out his website and just show some love – maybe say hello. His website is https://www.kristianeros.com/, where you can find his demos, his resume and see what he’s up to lately. You can find him on all the popular social medias – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok are @TheKristianEros. LinkedIn and YouTube are Kristian Eros. He’s also a DnD fan/gamer, and I know a lot of you in this business are, so there’s something relatable for ya. ;]
