This v/blog is about sharing stories, listening to people tell their journey whether it be about their careers or hobbies. Inspiring others to follow their dreams and strive to do something that makes them happy, speaks to their soul or lights a fire in their belly. My guests share advice from their own perspectives over various topics, they share their hopes and dreams and what they want out of life and out of their endeavors. The great thing about being human is that everyone has their own experiences that form their own opinions, and sometimes we need to hear an opinion that differs from our own. This is not a place to condemn someone for how they do or think about things if it’s different from how you’d do it, but to just listen and take it for what it is – a sharing of their experience.
Characters, voiceover and sports, oh my!
Welcome back to another episode, this time I got to speak with a wonderful soul by the name of Greg Arnold. He’s a voice actor with a focus on character work. He’s got a few awesome video games on his resume, with a sprinkling of narration and commercial work. He also is an athlete in several respects – the Foxtrot, karate, tennis, arm-wrestling, etc.
How cool is that? I didn’t even know arm-wrestling was a real sport until meeting him. If you have a moment, check out his forearm. He could probably strangle you with one hand, just sayin.
Not that he would, but good to know, nonetheless.
We talk about all the things – anime, twitch streaming, sports, his journey in voiceover and where’s he’s going with it, and some important people in his life. Twitch streaming is something he got into with the help of another voice actor (she’ll be in the next episode) and that’s a meditative hobby for him. Helps him to unwind and just have fun, and probably work out his frustrations in life by killing aliens or something. He got into arm-wrestling through his father, who’s been a rock in his life and he even mentions him as a role model – so wholesome. He dreams of being the voice of a long-term character, something that not only would be incredible but would also be fairly stable pay for a long time. Also voicing a character in a dubbed anime would be pretty cool, too.
You can find his website at gregarnoldvoices.com where you can listen to his demos, take a glance at his resume and see some of his recent work.
