This v/blog is about sharing stories, listening to people tell their journey whether it be about their careers or hobbies. Inspiring others to follow their dreams and strive to do something that makes them happy, speaks to their soul or lights a fire in their belly. My guests share advice from their own perspectives over various topics, they share their hopes and dreams and what they want out of life and out of their endeavors. The great thing about being human is that everyone has their own experiences that form their own opinions, and sometimes we need to hear an opinion that differs from our own. This is not a place to condemn someone for how they do or think about things if it’s different from how you’d do it, but to just listen and take it for what it is – a sharing of their experience.

Welcome Mercedes Lewis to our wonderful community!

I skipped a week in posting this not only because I didn’t have time to do the editing, but also because I thought this episode would be a great gift to you all during the big gift-giving week of the year. It’s almost an hour long (which is perfect for long car rides since most of us are doing that this time of year) and full of great nuggets of advice and inspiration from someone up-and-coming in the video game voiceover community. So, happy holidays!

Mercedes is a beautiful soul that just wants to add a little positivity to the world while voicing some awesome characters and playing her favorite games. She not only runs a business in voiceover, but she has also created a Twitch streaming business calling Rainbow Mic Gaming. That name was inspired by her VO logo, which is a rainbow mic with long, flowy hair. The kind of hair most women wish to have, the kind of hair I have no patience for. Beautiful, nonetheless.

She tells us her story of how she started in voiceover, how she got her first gig and how her career has blossomed since that day 2 years ago. She explains the delicate balance of how she juggles being a mom of an autistic daughter, her streaming business, her voiceover business and her other responsibilities. No easy feat, I can tell you that. She’s built a great community of people that love and support her, though, and that’s something to be grateful for.
