This v/blog is about sharing stories, listening to people tell their journey whether it be about their careers or hobbies. Inspiring others to follow their dreams and strive to do something that makes them happy, speaks to their soul or lights a fire in their belly. My guests share advice from their own perspectives over various topics, they share their hopes and dreams and what they want out of life and out of their endeavors. The great thing about being human is that everyone has their own experiences that form their own opinions, and sometimes we need to hear an opinion that differs from our own. This is not a place to condemn someone for how they do or think about things if it’s different from how you’d do it, but to just listen and take it for what it is – a sharing of their experience.
It’s here, it’s finally here!
I’ve been patiently awaiting the day my brand launches and I can squeal about it and tell the world how awesome it is and how grateful I am to Celia Siegel and her whole team for supporting me along this journey and making it all happen.
This also means it’s the day my podcast/vlog/blog…whatever you want to call it…launches. But of course, you know that since you’re reading this. Thank you, by the way, for taking the time to read and/or listen to this vlog. Ironically, I’m a better writer than I am speaker, so…do with that information what you will.
A little about this vlog:
The idea came to me last year as I was trying to figure out how to create content for social media that doesn’t make my skin crawl. I’m not one for being salesy or constantly promoting myself, so I needed something that keeps up my presence so that I don’t appear dead to the world but that isn’t a “Hey, look at me! I’m a voice actor and I wanna work, please hire me!” cause that’s not me. Not bashing those who do constantly promote their services, nothing wrong with it because this is, indeed, a business – but I’m wired differently.
I mulled over the few ideas I had and finally settled on this one, though I wasn’t sure if I wanted to move forward with it because I’m…ya know…not exactly social. But I love this topic of conversation, and I do actually enjoy having 1:1 conversations with people when it’s not standard small talk. I held back thinking it wouldn’t be a good idea because it’s not a typical VO podcast where we talk about VO trends, tips, tricks, or otherwise helpful advice for voice actors. Who’s gonna watch it if there’s nothing substantial in it for them to help push their business or performance?
Well. I’ve never been one to follow the crowd, so I’m just gonna do what I want. There are plenty of other people doing those types of blogs and podcasts, there’s a ton of free information out there by badass voice actors and frankly, I want to see something a bit different. Maybe you do, too…which is hopefully why you’re here.
So this first episode is just me, talking to myself, about myself, and just sharing a bit of my story. I decided to do the first episode this way because I’ll be asking my guests in the future similar questions, and it’s only fair that I answer them myself, right? Right. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the absolutely on point British accent that I put absolutely no effort into.
Feel free to comment, like, and/or subscribe if you want to be updated when these episodes are published. I’ll be posting weekly for now as best I can. I don’t have a certain day yet since my schedule varies. We’ll consider that later.
If you’d like to reach me, you can email me at [email protected] for any voiceover inquires. For questions about the vlog or guests, please leave a comment.
Thanks for reading and watching!
